People with Dementia are cognitively impaired due to damage to the brain. The onset is gradual, and any improvement from the disease extends over several years making the patient completely dependent on others. Occupational therapist can educate those in the early stages of the disease, family members, and/ or concerned friends, about the dementia and its functional implications. You or your loved one may have a chance to demonstrate improved function through compensation or adaptation. Give us a call for more information about our dementia care. |
