SPEECH THERAPY

Speech Therapist will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with disorders related to speech, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing disorders. These disorders may result from stroke, brain injury or deterioration, developmental delays or emotional problems.

Speech Therapist at Blue Mountain HHC, Inc. teams up with physician, skilled nurse, physical therapist, occupational therapist, and social worker to develop individualized plan of treatment, which may include:

Initial assessment to pinpoint falls and decreased mobility risks and address activities of daily living.
Utilizing augmentative or alternative communication methods and devices

Teaching oral muscle strengthening or compensatory strategies to swallow safely; helps patients develop, or recover, reliable communication and swallowing skills so patients can fulfill their educational, vocational, and social roles.
Patient and caregiver education.
